Police Arrest Secondary School Pupils During Cult Initiation Police in Ilesa, Osun state have arrested 4 students of the Ilesa Grammar school while they were being initiated into a secret cult. Punch reports that the police swooped on the boys (names withheld) while they were being initiated into the group by the duo of Dayo Oludare and Olaniran Arowobusoye, both 22-year-old. The pupils, said to be between 14 and 18 years of age, were arrested following a tip-off. An aircraft with the body of a former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, on board, crashed in Lagos on Thursday morning less than a minute after take-off from the local wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja. The EMBRA plane 120, with other 20 passengers on board, was conveying the body of the former governor, who died a week ago, to Akure, the state capital, for the final burial ceremonies. The 30-seat plane, belonging to Associated Airlines, was said to have crashed around 9.20am immediately after take-off into the compound of a private firm, around the MMIA access gate. Residents around the area told our corespondent that the plane exploded mid-air before coming down. The state of Israel is being sued by a Kenyan lawyer in the International Criminal Court of Justice (ICJ) for the “trial and crucifixion of Jesus Christ,” which the lawyer claims was “unlawful,” according to regional media reports. Eleven people were burnt to death in an accident at the Macmillan area, few metres before Soka Bus Stop, on Ibadan/Lagos Expressway, Ibadan. The occupants of the Mazda bus, a commercial vehicle, were coming from Ogido in Ogun State and heading to Beere in Ibadan, to attend a Wolimat programme of a family member. It was also gathered that most of the occupants were dressed in a uniformed ankara for the occasion. The propeller of the bus, according to the eyewitness, pulled out on the motion and hit the fuel tank, catching flame in the process. The driver of the bus, in an attempt to save the situation, veered off the road and hit a hip of sand by the side of the road. The driver and two passengers at the front escaped, but others were not so lucky, as the side door was locked. The occupants were reported to have struggled with one another in a bid to escape, while the 11 casualties, comprising eight adults and three children, were burnt to death.

For stealing a Nokia handset and N1500, a middle-aged man, Olaitan Adebayo, was on Monday sentenced to 12 months imprisonment by a Kwara state Magistrate court, sitting in Ilorin the state capital.
